Holocom’s MultiDomain PC Serves Global Market
New Computer Solves Long-Standing Government Security and Logistics Challenge. Officials Can Now View Classified
and Unclassified Information on the Same Computer.
SAN DIEGO, CA and ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 8, 2006) – The explosive growth of networks
carrying classified information to U.S. military, homeland security, and intelligence officials
has created a major challenge – how to allow users to view classified and unclassified information
at the same desk and at the same time without violating security regulations. In many cases, officials must
have two
or more separate computers on their desks, wasting money and time.
Holocom Networks, a member of
the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), announced today they have signed an agreement with another
CIC member, Secured Processing Inc. (SPI), to integrate the SPI breakthrough
Sentinel Computer Security Technology in the new Holocom MultiDomain PC. The Holocom MultiDomain
PC is a desktop tower that allows a single computer to process up to six different classified and
non-classified “domains” that
include separate computer storage devices, networks and I/O ports. This replaces the need for individual
users to have multiple computers at their work stations. In addition, users can have simultaneous
access to any two domains for processing unclassified and classified information, making it faster and easier
to
analyze information.
“This system provides the government with more security for less money,” said G. Bradford Saunders,
President and COO of Holocom Networks. “Customers from crucial U.S. security organizations across the
world have expressed their eagerness to acquire the Holocom MultiDomain PC.”
Holocom Networks will market
the new product beginning April 1, 2006 to a global list of Department of Defense facilities
and military units. The company believes total demand for the system may reach
into the hundreds of millions of dollars.
The hardware-based security system within the Holocom MultiDomain
PC is especially well suited to
protecting networks from the “insider threat” posed by hostile users with access to sensitive
networks. It works independently of the computer’s operating system, software and data processing hardware
by controlling the power source to peripherals. Identification, authentication and access control
permissions are programmed into a smart card interface for authorized users.
The MultiDomain PC uses the SPI
Sentinel Technology, which meets the government’s NSA validated EAL
4 gold standard for security technology. Security elements include a security module, smart card
interface and removable hard drives. Currently, the Holocom MultiDomain PC features an Intel ® Pentium ® 4
3.6G (800 MHz) with HT. Each domain is physically separate and is operating system independent.
Holocom products already protect critical government networks at key locations in the
U.S. and abroad. Their new solution will provide security across the entire length of the “pipelines” that
carry vital information to our security and intelligence personnel. “The CIC is especially pleased
that two of our member companies have cooperated to meet this important national security requirement,” said
John Elstner, CEO of the CIC.
Holocom Networks is currently best known for its Protected Distribution
System (PDS), a raceway that encloses and protects secure network connections and cables from inside
attacks and hackers. The PDS
end-to-end solution is engineered to meet the “spirit and intent” of NSTISSI No. 7003 requirements. About Holocom Networks
Holocom Networks offers its suite of technology services to ensure the physical security and protection
of classified networks from insider threats. With offices located in San Diego, CA, Honolulu, HI, Washington,
D.C., Annapolis, MD, and Germany, Holocom’s one-of-a-kind Protected Distribution System secures mission-critical
networks at Department of Defense and private facilities from the Gulf region to the Pacific Rim. For more
