ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 19, 2008) - - -UltraVision Security Systems, Inc., an Affiliate Member Company of the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), was part of the rescue efforts after the recent earthquake in China. The company’s LifeLocator technology was used within 24 hours of the quake.

“We had sold about 50 units there previously and our representative confirmed that over 20 were in use within 24 hours after the quake,” said Dennis Johnson, UltraVision President. “Our representative has several people trained in search and rescue and they were allowed to support the equipment in the field,” he continued. “The photos I have attached show the initial mobilization effort at an airport near Beijing and the LifeLocator being used at a hospital site. We are following up to get more specifics about their effectiveness.”

John R. Leopold, Anne Arundel County Executive, said, “UltraVision’s technology can locate trapped, living victims of building collapse by detecting fractions of motion, even extremely shallow breathing. I am proud of UltraVision’s ability to respond quickly and contribute to the support efforts in the aftermath of China’s earthquake,” he continued. “This is an excellent example of technology in action.”

Sarah Djamshidi, CIC Executive Director, said, “UltraVision’s LifeLocater is an example of the important technologies being developed by CIC Member Companies. I commend UltraVision’s efforts during the China disaster.”
