CIC Selects Two New Companies Focused on Crucial Homeland Security Issues: Improving Human Performance & Physical and Cyber Security
Annapolis, MD (Aug 9, 2004) — One is a Ph.D in educational
psychology; the other a veteran of elite Israeli military units.
Both run companies that address major needs in the homeland security
marketplace and are the newest members of the Chesapeake Innovation
Center (CIC), America’s first business incubator for the homeland
security high technology sector.
Dr. Paul Elliott is CEO of Exemplary
Performance (EP), LLC, which provides services that drive exemplary
organizational performance
by enabling exemplary human performance. EP identifies how an
organization’s
star performers achieve their results and helps spread their
characteristics to the rest of the work force. The company currently
assists clients
such as Microsoft Corporation and Delphi Corporation with projects
focused on enhancing sales force performance and managing supply
chains. Elliott, whose experience includes extensive work with
the U.S. Coast Guard, is now pursuing multiple opportunities
to bring
these techniques to the federal sector, where organizational
and human performance is a key requirement in the homeland security
arena.

The critical intersection of human performance,
physical security, and cyber security is a specialty of Alon
Moritz and his company,
Moozatech Inc. Moritz gained invaluable practical experience
in security during years of service in Israeli special operations
and
intelligence units. Through its work with organizations around
the globe, Moozatech determines breaches in networks, applications,
policies and procedures by analyzing physical and digital security
elements – all in the name of protecting its clients’ core
assets. Drawing from its heritage in combating cyber-terrorism,
the company goes beyond the efforts of traditional security firms
by employing proprietary methodologies. This comprehensive auditing
approach allows customers to “connect the dots” and
create more effective defenses against the threats they face.

“Protecting America’s homeland requires more than
superior technology; it also demands the integration of human factors
into physical and cyber security systems, along with generating peak
performance from government and corporate work forces,” said
Mark Sauter, COO of the CIC. “That’s why Exemplary Performance
and Moozatech are such important additions to the CIC.”
