ROGER LONDON NAMED DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY SCOUTING AT THE CHESAPEAKE INNOVATION CENTER

ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 9, 2006) - - - Roger London has been named Director of Technology Scouting for the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), Anne Arundel County's business incubator that focuses on homeland and national security acceleration. London has been affiliated with the CIC since 2003, first as Principal Partner of Nokia Innovent, an early stage technology fund and a CIC co-founding sponsor along with NSA, and then in 2005 as CIC's Portfolio Manager.

Recognizing the need to work with CIC Partners and mentor CIC member companies on a more individualized basis, CIC's Interim Executive Director Laura Neuman hired Mr. London to solidify those relationships given his extensive work with CIC partners and member companies over the last two and a half years.

"A repeated message from our key stakeholders was that Roger provided significant value and was a primary reason they were satisfied with their CIC relationship," said Ms. Neuman. "His background as an investment banker, technology venture capitalist, and entrepreneur mentor add substantial value to our members and partners," she added.

Aaron Greenfield, President and CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation and Chairman of the CIC Board of Directors said, "Roger's institutional knowledge and relationships with the CIC community go back to the days CIC first opened its doors in October 2003. He understands the CIC business model and is committed to our stakeholders."

As Director of Technology Scouting, Mr. London will locate technology companies that match criteria established by the CIC partners who are looking for technologies/companies to acquire, invest in, team with or implement within their own enterprise. He will also be mentoring current CIC members and evaluating new member candidates.

“We're glad Roger is coming back. He was always dependable and responsive to us, and delivered sound advice to the member companies”, said Jim Long, Vice President of Next Century Corp and a CIC partner. “One of Roger's strengths is he tells you the truth… which sometimes is hard for entrepreneurs to accept,” he added. “His “tough love” approach has proven successful and we look forward to his return.”
