410-222-7410 KIS TrackHealth Technology Achieves CCHIT
Preliminary ARRA 2011 Certification
SaaS | Cloud Technology Addresses Trusted Monitoring and Management of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Patient Record Access and Meaningful Use Outcomes
ANNAPOLIS and ROCKVILLE, MD – January 20, 2010: -Kaulkin Information Systems (KIS) today announced that Version 5.1 of the company’s TrackHealth™ technology platform has achieved Preliminary ARRA 2011 certification by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®).
KIS was one of the first four companies to receive Preliminary ARRA 2011 certification.
TrackHealthis a specialized version of the company’s KISTrack® SaaS|Cloud computing workflow, data/document management, compliance and risk mitigation platform. TrackHealthallows patients, practitioners, regulators, office managers/staff, administrators, specialists and other medical stakeholders to more actively share data, monitor critical decisions and manage electronic health records (EHRs) at all stages of a patient’s care.
Preliminary ARRA 2011 certification requires that EHRs and related technologies surpass comprehensive testing against proposed Federal technology and process standards while also support Meaningful Use Objectives published by the Office of the National Coordinator’s (ONC/HHS) advisory committees. Using a certified platform, qualified healthcare providers and practitioners can attain funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA – aka the Stimulus Act) for practice automation.
“With the flurry of political and rhetorical wrangling over the broad health reform landscape, practitioners and patients alike are justifiably wondering when and how they can directly participate and benefit,” stated Michael P. Binko, president and CEO of Kaulkin Information Systems. “While it may yet take some time for the administration’s full strategic roadmap and tactical objectives to be fully mapped-out the good news is that considerable incentives have already been put in place for practitioners who make automation and meaningful patient outcomes a priority.”
Regardless of the health reform big picture practitioners can benefit directly in 2010 by concentrating on data protection, practice management, paperless initiatives, best-practices and workflow. Then, as ARRA incentives and stimulus funds begin to be dispersed practitioners can take full advantage before competition for ARRA resources heats up or funds are depleted.
“With its heritage in governance, risk management, compliance (GRC) and sensitive data management in financial services and government sectors, KIS approaches healthcare/medical automation with keen attention to the likelihood of increased regulatory scrutiny and the need for security and privacy related to EHRs,” stated Sarah Djamshidi, Executive Director of the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC).
Being SaaS|Cloud based, TrackHealth can work with practitioners’ existing processes and IT systems while scaling easily and affordably as needs and user communities expand.
“TrackHealth is the cornerstone of a concept we call EHR Your Way™. EHR Your Way takes the worry out of automation by reducing/eliminating paper processes, mitigating risks and streamlining practice management at all levels,” added Binko.
TrackHealth technologies can be deployed very quickly without the typical hard-costs of new computing equipment, additional IT staff or long-term software maintenance contracts. This “low overhead” aspect of the technology makes TrackHealtha definitive platform for both large and small healthcare/medical organizations.
Additionally, the KIS Solution Services team is available to advise and work closely with customers to perform IT audits that identify where TrackHealth can supplement existing systems. Solution Services teams also project manage deployments with customer teams in order to identify, prioritize and surpass specific return-on-investment (ROI) goals and objectives.
