Vertical Data Mining Solutions Company Seeks to Connect with Defense and Intelligence Agencies
ANNAPOLIS, MD (July 11, 2011) – Treeminer Inc., the world’s first vertical data mining solutions company, has joined the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC) (www.cic-tech.org) in Anne Arundel County, MD. CIC plans to use their new partnership with Treeminer to connect with potential customers and government agencies in need of quick data mining capabilities.

Treeminer’s patented approach addresses a fundamental problem in data mining and analysis by narrowing the gap between the growing volume of data, and the lack of scalability of current data mining methods. This is achieved by analyzing data vertically, rather than row-by-row as employed by current systems. Data mining is integral to business today, and increasing the speed and accuracy of data mining analysis results in bottom line productivity increases. These techniques are critical as well to the defense and intelligence segments, where there is a need to find small pieces of relevant information amidst growing volumes of data.
After joining CIC, Treeminer received $75,000 in funding from TEDCO (Maryland Technology Development Corporation) to support their product development and innovations. “The Maryland Technology Transfer and Commercialization Fund is designed to foster collaboration between businesses and Maryland universities and federal laboratories in order to bring technology into the marketplace,” said Rob Rosenbaum, president and executive director of TEDCO. “Treeminer’s contributions to the industry of data mining and analysis are impressive and TEDCO is proud to support this promising company.”
